How Can I See My Year in Flights? Your Flight Year in Review

A flight year in review adds up one calendar year of flying (flights, distance, time in the air, countries, airports, airlines) on a single card you can share. FlightLog's Year in Review builds it for any year of your journal, with a year selector and a card sized for Stories.

What is a flight year in review?

It is a summary of everything you flew between January 1 and December 31 of one year. Instead of a long list of trips, you get a few totals that are easy to compare from one year to the next: how many flights, how far, how long in the air, and how many places.

What does it show?

  • Flights: the number of flights you took that year.
  • Distance: the total distance flown, in kilometers or miles depending on your settings.
  • Time in the air: the sum of your flight times.
  • Countries, airports and airlines: how many different ones you used.
  • Highlights: your top destination and your longest flight of the year.

How to see your year in review in FlightLog

  1. Open the Stats tab.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Year in Review.
  3. Choose the year with the arrows or the year selector. Any year of your journal works, not only the current one.

If a year shows no flights, add them first: scan a boarding pass, import your calendar, forward your booking emails or bring your history over from another app. See how to find a record of your past flights.

How to share it

The card is made in the vertical 9:16 format of Stories. Share it directly to Instagram, Facebook or WhatsApp, or use your phone's share sheet for any other app. More cards opens the other share card designs, such as maps, airlines and carbon footprint.

Which flights are counted?

Only the flights in your journal for that year. FlightLog is free with every feature on your 10 most recent flights, so in the free version the year in review counts those flights. Premium unlocks your complete history, and the review then counts every flight of the year.

A year in review is only as complete as your journal. Before the end of the year, it is worth adding the flights you have not logged yet, from your calendar or your booking emails.

When is the best time to look?

Any time: the review is calculated from your journal, so it changes as soon as you add a flight. Most travelers look at it at the end of the year, once the last trip is logged, or in January to compare with the year before. To see all your routes at once rather than one year, read how to see all your flights on a map.
