Common Issues & Solutions
Quick fixes for the most frequent questions
Boarding pass scanner not working
Make sure your camera has good lighting and the boarding pass barcode is clearly visible. You can also scan from your photo library. The scanner works with paper passes, mobile screenshots, and even damaged cards. Try holding your device steady for a moment.
Data not syncing
Cloud sync requires an account. Go to Profile and make sure you are signed in. Check your internet connection. If sync is stuck, try pulling down to refresh on the Journal page. FlightLog works offline and will sync automatically when reconnected.
Real-time tracker shows no data
The plane tracker uses public ADS-B data from the OpenSky Network. Not all aircraft are tracked at all times. Make sure the registration number is correct (e.g., F-HTYA, G-EUOA). The aircraft must be currently airborne and within ADS-B receiver range.
Subscription not activating
After purchasing, restart the app. If your subscription still does not appear, go to Settings and tap "Restore Purchases". Make sure you are using the same Apple ID or Google account used for the purchase. Allow a few minutes for processing.
App crashing on startup
Try closing the app completely and reopening it. If the issue persists, uninstall and reinstall FlightLog. Your data is safe if you have cloud sync enabled. On iOS, make sure you are running the latest version from the App Store.
Statistics seem incorrect
Statistics are calculated from your logged flights. Make sure all flight details (airports, dates, times) are filled in correctly. Distance is computed using the great-circle formula between airports. Edit any flight from the Journal to update its details.
