1. Introduction
FlightLog ("we", "our", or "the app") is a mobile application designed to help you track and manage your personal flight history. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your data. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
2. Data Collection
FlightLog is designed with a privacy-first approach. We collect the absolute minimum amount of data needed to provide our services:
- •Account information: If you choose to create an account, we store your email address and display name for authentication purposes.
- •Flight data: Flight numbers, airports, dates, aircraft information, and related notes you enter into the app.
- •Boarding pass scans: Images are processed locally or via secure API to extract flight details. We do not store your boarding pass images on our servers.
- •Crash reports: Anonymous crash data is collected via Sentry to help us fix bugs and improve stability. No personal information is included.
3. Local-First Storage
By default, all your data is stored locally on your device. FlightLog works 100% offline. You do not need an internet connection or an account to use the app. Your flights, statistics, and preferences remain on your device and are never transmitted without your explicit consent.
4. Optional Cloud Sync
If you create an account, you can opt to sync your flight data to the cloud. This allows you to access your data across devices and ensures a backup in case you lose your phone. Cloud data is stored securely using Supabase with row-level security, ensuring only you can access your own data. You can disable cloud sync at any time.
5. Third-Party Services
FlightLog uses the following third-party services:
- •Supabase: Authentication and cloud data storage (only if you create an account).
- •RevenueCat: Subscription management for Premium features. Processes purchase receipts only.
- •OpenSky Network: Public aviation data for real-time plane tracking. No personal data is sent.
- •Sentry: Anonymous crash reporting to improve app stability.
6. We Never Sell Your Data
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Your flight data is yours and yours alone. We do not use your data to build advertising profiles or serve targeted ads. FlightLog is funded through Premium subscriptions, not your data.
7. GDPR Compliance
FlightLog complies with the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You have the following rights:
- •Right of access: You can export all your data at any time from the app settings (CSV, JSON, or PDF).
- •Right to rectification: You can edit any of your flight data at any time.
- •Right to erasure: You can delete individual flights or all your data from the app settings. Deleted data is permanently removed.
- •Right to data portability: Export your data in standard formats (CSV, JSON) and take it to any other service.
8. Data Deletion
You can delete all your data at any time from the app's Privacy & Data settings page. This permanently removes all your flights, statistics, and account information from both your device and our servers. You can also delete your account entirely, which removes all associated data. This action is irreversible.
9. Children's Privacy
FlightLog is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
